Rachel Riley: Countdown star leaves guest stunned as she brands him a nerd live on-air

Rachel Riley, 33, joined her co-host Jimmy Carr, 46, on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown where the blonde beauty took a cheeky swipe at comedian Jon Richardson, 36. During the segment, the mathematician decided to tell the audience the urban dictionary definition of the phrase “nerd”, referring to the British comic. “I’ve been thinking about this actually,” Rachel explained. “So I checked on the urban dictionary definition of nerd. “And a nerd is someone whose IQ is bigger than their weight.”

She continued: “So obviously it’s Countdown’s own Mr Jon Richardson.”

Her cheeky remark was met with a rapturous applause and laughter from the studio audience.

A bemused Jon asked: “Is that a nice thing?”

Countdown host Jimmy Carr replied: “I think it’s a nice thing. You’re a tiny little fella but you’re very clever.”

Elsewhere, the blonde bombshell branded herself “a wuss” compared to her husband Pasha Kovalev.

The maths whizz gave viewers an insight into the couple’s home life during a segment of Countdown with the host Nick Hewer.

Rachel mused: “There are mobile services for everything these days. We get a mobile masseur that comes round and he’s amazing.

“It’s the proper sports massage for the muscles.”

The maths whizz revealed she struggles in pain while getting a deep tissue massage whilst Pasha barely flinches.

She continued: “And I’m sitting there screaming wondering what I’ve done wrong and Pasha can fall asleep through it.

“And the [massueuse] does it harder for Pasha as well.”

Nick quizzed: “Is that right?”

She replied: “I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to that.”

But, the Countdown presenter added that Pasha has a stronger threshold for “punishment”.

Nick mused: “He’s a Russian. These Russian’s can take enormous punishment.”

Rachel quipped: “I think it’s all the vodka,” which was met with laughter from the studio audience.

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown airs tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm and Countdown airs weekdays on the same channel at 2.10pm.
