ORIGINAL: Xbox One servers and services are down tonight, according to affected customers and Microsoft.

The tech giant has revealed the latest on their Server Status page, confirming that core features are currently suffering an outage.

And not only can Xbox Live members not purchase new stuff but they’re also finding it hard to access their existing games library.

This includes Buying items, redeeming codes, or downloading purchases on the Xbox One console ecosystem.

It also extends to buying codes and Xbox content from the Microsoft Store, although the good news is that only the Xbox One console is currently affected.

This means that if you’re trying to buy games, movies or other content, you may find yourself pushed back to the home screen.

“Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience,” a message from Microsoft reads.

Thousands of reports of tonight’s Xbox Live outage have made it online, mostly from affected Xbox One console owners.

“I know people are expecting a perfect service, but this rarely happens, try not to be so upset,” one user writes.

Other users are reporting further problems away from the issues Microsoft have confirmed.

This includes not being able to play online via paid-for content, with one user adding: “Can’t play online, bittersweet to know neither can anyone else.”

It’s unclear what has caused tonight’s Xbox outage or how long it might last, with Microsoft unable to provide an ETA.
