Lucifer season 5: Lucifer to become evil again as Eve makes shock comeback?

The past four outings of the Netflix hit has seen a drastic change in Lucifer’s character (played by Tom Ellis) since he fell for Chloe Decker (Lauren German) with strong evidence the devil is developing a conscience.

The past outing has seen Lucifer seemingly develop feelings of kindness and love when early episodes saw a character with no regard for human life.

However, showrunners have revealed that all could change for Lucifer in the next outing, as the devil’s troublemaker ex-girlfriend Eve (Inbar Lavi) could be making a comeback.

In conversation with TV Insider, showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich discussed the possibility of Eve’s return.

Joe said: “The impish original sinner left Los Angeles — and smitten demon Maze to go find herself.

“That ambiguous ending was intentional, so she could potentially return.”

Fans will remember the star’s shock exit last season that saw Eve come to the realisation that she’d been putting the needs of men like Lucifer and Adam above her own for too long.

Eve had lost the goodwill of everyone after trying to Lure Lucifer back to hell last season, but could the next outing see her return to hell and succeed?

Moreover, Joe hinted that Lucifer could return to his old ways back in hell, which is certain to jepodise his reunion with Chloe.

Joe said: “You send an alcoholic to a liquor store and tell them to run it for 20 years? Who knows what [will] happen!”

The comments come after the fandom became concerned Chloe and Lucifer would break up, with Lucifer returning to hell and Chloe being a good mortal.

Reddit user brabbleruffs took to the site to voice concerns of how the pair would reunite.

The user said: “Let’s assume they will get together again and there will be a happy end. Still, the question remains: how can they actually STAY together?

“Chloe is 100% good, so she won’t go to Hell that’s for sure, and Luci wouldn’t want her to live there with him either. He knows she doesn’t deserve that grim place.

“They could go to heaven, but for that Lucifer would have to redeem himself.

“Moreover, even if he does so, he has already stated many times that he hates that place and let’s not forget that all of his siblings up there despise him. That would be a torture for him to live there for all eternity.”

So if both Heaven and Hell is ruled out it seems showrunners are faced with the possibility of the two parting ways or somehow reuniting on Earth.

However, if Lucifer was to revert to his old ways back in Hell, a reunion elsewhere would seem unlikely.

Furthermore, if Eve was to return, this would surely mean the couple will face yet another obstacle in the relationship.

Lucifer season four is available to watch on Netflix.
