Carol Kirkwood: ‘My eyesight’s not good’ BBC Breakfast star makes mistake during forecast

Carol Kirkwood, 58, had to correct herself during one of her forecasts on BBC Breakfast today.

The star, who looked very glamorous in a leopard print dress, teamed with a black wide belt, made a mistake when discussing today’s temperatures.

She told viewers: “Temperatures 19 in the rain in the north, to about 25 as we push further south.”

Carol added: “My eyesight’s not so good, I think that said 16 actually in Lerwick.”

Later on in the programme, presenter Sally Nugent, who was celebrating her birthday today, revealed she had missed Carol after spending time on holiday.

After Carol presented the weather, Sally said: “Carol, thank you very much. Lovely to see Carol this morning isn’t it.”

“I’ve missed her,” Sally added.

“I missed Carol,” said co-host Dan Walker, who had also been away on holiday.

He added: “One day without Carol is too many.”

“I’ve been on holiday, I missed hearing from Carol,” Sally repeated.

Dan said: “She’s back, you’re back now, it’s your birthday. Carol on your birthday, perfect.”

Before presenting the weather on the BBC One show, Carol said she was feeling a little tired this morning,

She told her fans on Twitter: “SO sleepy this morning. Think I saw every hour on my alarm clock until it rang and it was time to get up.”

One fan offered to the meteorologist: “Coffee coming right up.”

However, Carol replied saying she would rather a cup of tea, which had to have plenty of milk in it.
