Man Utd fans go into meltdown as Paulo Dybala and Bruno Fernandes transfer hopes fade

It has emerged that Manchester United had withdrawn their interest in a swap deal with Juventus involving Paulo Dybala.

The Red Devils had been in talks about swapping Dybala and out-of-favour striker Romelu Lukaku.

But United were apparently unconvinced about the player’s desire to move to Old Trafford.

Amid multiple concerns – among which were the Argentine play-maker’s high wage demands – United have pulled the plug on any possible transfer.

But BBC Sport reported in addition that Sporting Lisbon midfielder Fernandes isn’t on their radar either.

The Tottenham-linked Portugal international has been mentioned as a United target throughout the transfer window.

But BBC Sport suggest United have distanced themselves from a move for the 24-year-old, who Sporting want £64million for.

And that news went down like a lead ballon among United fans on Twitter on Sunday night.

“I swear to god if we don’t get Bruno Fernandes we are gonna have an utter s***e season. #MUFC,” reacted one.

Another declared: “I don’t mind not buying Dybala. But not buying Bruno Fernandes is a f**king sin.”

One other said: “United pull the plug on the Dybala deal? Fernandes not on Solskjaer’s list??? Just when you thought this transfer window would end as a good one…”

And another reacted: Ole not in for Bruno Fernandes? dybala deal off, wants to sign longstaff for 50 million, people were asking what sarri was smoking in Italy but the real question is what is ole on ?? #mufc #transfers.”

“If United doesn’t sign Dybala or Fernandes before the window closes and they bring in Manzukic… I swear … I f**king swear…. I’m f**king done. DONE,” fumed one.

“Now that dybala is out of the way I can’t understand why united aren’t going for Bruno Fernandes ffs,” questioned one other.

Another fan wrote: “Dybala doesnt wanna sign and fernandes deal off now woodwards done it again.”

One said: “No Dybala, no Fernandes… We’re coming 5th #Mufc.”

Another disgruntled fan even admitted that they cannot wait for the window to shut at 5pm this coming Thursday.

They said: “A few hours ago Manchester United looked very likely to bring in all of Dybala, Fernandes and Mandzukic.

“Now it’s looking like we won’t sign any of them. I just desperately want this transfer window to be over. Hate the speculation.”

United have made two signings this summer in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but are nearing a third in £80million centre-back Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
