Nancy Xu: Who is new Strictly Come Dancing 2019 pro dancer Nancy Xu?

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 is almost here with the celebrity line-up expected to be announced the next couple of weeks. The BBC series will be kicking off this September with a launch show once the contestants have all been announced. Nancy Xu has been confirmed as the latest dancer to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing professional line-up ahead of its return this autumn. 

Who is Strictly Come Dancing 2019 pro Nancy Xu?

Nancy Xu is a professional dancer from China with a wealth of experience.

The 28-year-old is a specialist in Latin dancing and was a finalist in the U21 World Championships in 2010.

She went on to take third place in in the 2010-2012 CBDF National Amateur Latin Championships.

Nancy was also a runner-up in the 2013 International Singapore Championships.

She has also been a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance in China.

On top of that, Nancy has performed on hit the West End and Broadway show Burn The Floor.

Judging from her Instagram account, Nancy has only recently finished a tour of Burn The Floor in Australia before embarking on her Strictly Journey.

The star also appears to have done some modelling alongside her dancing. 

Speaking about joining the Strictly Come Dancing professional line-up, Nancy said: “I’m thrilled and excited! I cannot wait to start this new journey with all these amazing people and share the magic together.”

She starts rehearsing today (Tuesday, July 30) along with the other Strictly Come Dancing professionals as training kicks off.

Nancy will be joining: AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones and Oti Mabuse.

Nancy’s addition to the professional line-up comes a week after Motsi Mabuse was announced as the new judge on the panel.

Motsi will be joining Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One later this year
