Jimmy Patton dead: Paul Chuckle's Chuckle Brothers star sibling dies one year after Barry

Jimmy Patton died at the age of 87, a statement on the Chuckle Brothers’ official Facebook confirmed. The statement, which was shared with their 14,000 followers, said: “I just thought I’d let you know that the Chuckle Brothers older Brother Jimmy Patton has sadly passed away. Jimmy was a big part of ChuckleVision and the stage shows where he played the character No Slacking. RIP Jim Lad. And No Slacking.”

The cause of death has not yet been reported.

Jimmy’s death comes almost one year after Chuckle Brothers legend Barry Chuckle died following a bone cancer diagnosis.

Last year, Jimmy spoke out about losing his younger brother, telling The Sun: “We are all devastated.

“He was ill for years but kept it hidden.

“We knew about it but kept it quiet,” he continued.

“All the family are really hurting right now.”

Two years ago, Jimmy married his love Amy Phillips, who is 59 years his junior.

The entertainer proposed to Amy, a fan of ChuckleVision, 18 months after meeting via Facebook.

At the time, Amy’s mother told the publication the age gap didn’t concern the happy couple, saying: [It] doesn’t bother them or us at all. It’s love – so it doesn’t matter.”

Jimmy, who’s first wife Valerie died nine years ago, said: “I never thought I would find this kind of love again.”

He was known for starring in ChuckleVision alongside his famous brothers, Paul and Barry.

As a young man, Jimmy made a name for himself performing as part of a comedy duo with their fourth brother, Brian.

The family have been grieving the death of Jimmy’s younger brother Barry, who died in early August 2018.

Just months ago, Paul Chuckle spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about losing his brothers Barry, saying the late star had been appearing in his dreams.

“I believe in the afterlife,” Paul said during the emotional interview. “He [Barry] never did.

“I know he knows there is an afterlife now because he’s been in most of my dreams ever since he died and I’m sure that’s his way of coming back to say, ‘You’re right.’”
