According to a report from Time.com, Taylor Swift just released a new track, “The Archer,” and as expected, fans are already combing through the lyrics and the music video symbolisms for clues as to what’s going on in her personal and romantic life.
Taylor has a brand new record coming out called, Lover, and the lyric video has made the rounds on YouTube and on social media. Fans of the singer have been doing all kinds of research to figure out the hidden meanings in Taylor’s latest single.
Shortly before the release of the track, Swift published an Instagram Live clip in which she provided a bit of background for the song. The star said before her Instagram followers that she wanted to give fans her fifth track before the record has officially come out.
Reportedly, the song was produced by Lena Dunham’s ex-boyfriend, Jack Antonoff, a frequent creative partner for the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer. Jack helped create the previously listed track, as well as “New Year’s Day” with Taylor.
Confirming what her fans already know, Taylor told her followers that the fifth song on all her albums is typically the most “personal” and “vulnerable” And “The Archer” is no different.
Interestingly, this comes immediately after the singer-songwriter was involved in a very brief but highly publicized battle with her ex-manager, Scooter Braun.
In a Tumblr blog post, Taylor accused Scooter and the owner of her former record label to which she was signed, Scott Borchella, of going behind her back and selling off the rights to her master recordings in an attempt to “control” her.
The singer-songwriter stated that Scott never once gave her the chance to purchase the master recordings in the way Scooter was, moreover, Taylor entrusted in Scott that he would not sell them to Scooter because Swift claims she almost always “uttered Scooter’s name through tears” to Scott.

Since then, however, the media spectacle surrounding the controversy has subsided. Amid the feud, Justin Bieber was pictured hanging out with Scooter Braun, a man Bieber has described as his “mentor” and “friend” for many years.
