Where is Mustique? How can I get there? Prince William and Kate’s holiday spot revealed

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken a family flight away from the UK and its political rollercoaster this week as they head on holiday. Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with Princes Louis and George and Princess Charlotte, are believed to be holidaying in the stunning resort of Mustique. It has been claimed they are relaxing on a private island, on the small Caribbean archipelago nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Yet can Britons recreate a royal holiday and travel there themselves?

Travel advice from discoversvg.com states tourists should fly to Barbados and then take a connecting flight to Mustique.

They claim there are regular scheduled flights between St. Vincent and Mustique.

Meanwhile, for that added spot of luxury, private charters are also offered from Mustique’s airport, which is located in the northern half of the island.

A ferry service between St Vincent and Mustique also operates.

Additionally private charters from a variety of surrounding islands can also be arranged.

Quite the location for the active tourist, hiking and snorkelling, as well as island tours and diving are recommended as holiday activities.

Basil’s Bar was also hailed by Conde Nast Traveller as one of the best in the world, so perhaps the royals will take a tipple there.

Meanwhile the FCO has issued Britons with some safety advice ahead of their trop to Barbados and the wider Caribbean.

The alerts, updated this month, now state: “The hurricane season normally runs from June to November.

“You should monitor local and international weather updates from the US National Hurricane Centre and follow the advice of local authorities, including any evacuation orders.”

It added: “UK health authorities have classified Barbados as having a risk of Zika virus transmission.”

Meanwhile Prince George, who turns six yesterday, had the luxury of celebrating on an exclusive Caribbean island.

The location is “glamorous” and will not cost the taxpayer, as the royals are “guests of the people who own the island”, claimed royal commentator Neil Sean.

Mr Sean told Nine News Australia: “Well they’re onto a glamorous location of course, Mustique, which is very nice.

“There were reports that the Wales’ are going to stay in England, but you cant really have that much privacy unless you stay in one of your many houses of course.

“But they want to do something a little bit different. What they do try and do is actually have this traditional family holiday every year, and I think that works quite well for them as a family.

“It’s very expensive and all of this, but they are guests of the people who own the island. So it’s not like it’s going to cost the taxpayer anything.
