The BBC has announced its latest drama Us, based on the 2014 novel by David Nicholls, which has a release date expected in 2020. Tom Hollander will lead the cast of Us, which has a plot that follows the story of a family breaking up while on a tour of Europe. Us does not have a trailer yet, but images from the series are sure to emerge now that filming has started.
When does Us start on BBC?
Us does not have a release date yet, but filming started on the series in July 2019.
As such, the air date is expected to be at some point in 2020, but this has not been confirmed by the BBC.
The series will have four parts and will be filmed across London, Amsterdam, Venice, Barcelona and Paris.

Who is in the cast of Us?
Tom Hollander of Rev will lead the Us cast as Douglas Peterson.
Douglas is joined in the series by wife Connie (Saskia Reeves) and son Albie (Tom Taylor).
Other roles in Us will be played by The Killing’s Sofie Gråbøl, Doctor Foster’s Tom Taylor and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Iain De Caestecker.
The cast behind the camera includes Swedish director Lisa Siwe, who will direct and author David Nicholls who will be executive producer.
What is the plot of Us?
The BBC synopsis for Us reads: “Douglas Petersen (Tom Hollander) is blindsided when his wife Connie tells him that she’s not sure she wants to be married to him anymore.
“Agreeing to still go on their planned family grand tour of Europe, Douglas vows to win back the love of his wife and repair his troubled relationship with their son Albie.
“Reflecting David Nicholls’ signature mix of humour and heartbreak, Us brings the Petersens’ poignant and often hilarious story to life, taking viewers with them on their once-in-a-lifetime journey through some of the most beautiful cities in the world.”
The series is based on Nicholls’ novel, longlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2014.
Is there a trailer for Us?
There is currently no promo for Us from the BBC and one is not expected until 2020.
