Duncan James, 41, gushed about his new relationship on Instagram yesterday, as the Blue star credited his boyfriend for “making him smile”. The singer shared a sweet selfie with his Brazilian beau Rodrigo Reis, which showed the couple putting on cosy display together as they relaxed in the sun. Duncan and Rodrigo were pictured gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes alongside the caption: “Cute pic alert!! “Such a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you @rodrigolopesreis for making me smile. Photo cred @baozaki.”(sic)

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts about the couple’s adorable photo.

One wrote: “Love is love! No matter of gender, colour or religion. Love when found needs to be celebrated x.”

Another added: “My god that is so cute.”

“You guys make a very beautiful couple”, a third person commented.

A fourth replied: “Ahhh Duncan happy for you.”(sic)

After posting the photo, Duncan continued to open up about his blossoming romance on Twitter.

In view of his 331,000 followers, he wrote: “I posted this pic on my Insta yesterday & couldn’t get over the amazing response, comments and love from people.”

Getting candid about his sexuality, he continued: “I didn’t identify as a gay man for many years because of my own issues with coming out,

“But finally I’m happy in my skin & this guy next 2 me makes me proud 2 be gay.”(sic)

The All Rise hitmaker came out as bisexual in 2009 and declared he was gay in 2012.

He previously got candid about his sexuality during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women in July 2017.

Duncan explained to the panel at the time: “It’s something I wasn’t comfortable sharing with the world.

“I decided to do it because it was the right thing to do.

“After years of hiding things I wanted to be who I am. I wanted acceptance.

“I carried this burden for so many years. I was worried about what fans, family, friends, would think. I was living a lie… It was one of the best things I ever did.”

The popstar admitted he was initially concerned about the reaction from members of the public towards his news, adding: “I thought people would shout at me in the streets but I just had positivity. We celebrated Pride this month – it’s so important for people to feel comfortable with who they are.”

Fortunately, Duncan went on to reveal: “I had a wonderful response from everyone. We’re living in 2017 it shouldn’t be a problem… You know what they say, there’s always a gay one in a boyband! It’s normal now.”
