Jet2 is a firm favourite with some Britons for bargain flight fares, or easy package holiday bookings. Yet while the company’s routes might be purse friendly, is their hand luggage policy just as pleasing? The firm, which is the third-largest scheduled airline in the UK, has outlined its stipulations on its websites yet issued a further warning around just how its customers should go about packing their items. The website states to hand luggage customers: “You may carry on board one piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including any wheels and handles.
“If your hand luggage weighs more or is larger than this, it will need to be checked into the aircraft hold, and you may have to pay an additional charge.
“You can also bring a small, personal item on board (such as a handbag, laptop bag or airport purchase), as long as it is placed underneath the seat in front of you.
“Please note that you cannot drink any alcohol purchased at the airport during the flight.
“All hand luggage is carried in the cabin at our discretion, and we reserve the right to check it into the aircraft hold for operational or capacity reasons.

Adding detail to its regulations, it stated certain hand luggage holders are much more suitable than others.
Jet2 revealed: “Please ensure your baggage is strong and fit for purpose and sufficiently robust to protect the contents and to withstand the normal baggage handling process.
“Soft sided cases and protrusions, such as handles, wheels and locks, can be particularly vulnerable.”
One passenger recently Tweeted the airline to ask for further detail about the hand luggage policy, and quizzed: “Good morning, I’m looking to bring a camcorder, DSLR camera, laptop and tablet on a Jet2 flight tomorrow.
“Are there limits on amount of electrical equipment I can put in hand luggage (so long as under weight limit). Would prefer to keep with me so know are safe.”
The airline replied with positive news, and put: “Thanks for getting in touch.
“You should be fine to carry all of these items in your hand luggage providing its no more than 10kg.”
Meanwhile Express.co.uk recently outlined Ryanair’s particularly strict baggage policy, as well, as honing in on the detail of easyJet’s rules.
