They continued: “Many people have pointed out that had he stopped Quill they could have gotten the gauntlet off or he could have used the Time Stone or whatever.
“But maybe he needed Thanos to cause the Decimation and then to destroy the Infinity Stones to prevent future catastrophes.
“Seeing how successful Thanos was at collecting the stones, he wanted to look past Thanos for others going after the stones.
“This version was the only version that Strange survived or came back in (allowing him to know how it played out) and that didn’t involve future catastrophes that they couldn’t prevent.”
They added: “The Snap got the surviving Avengers back together.
“It likely caused a moratorium on the Sokovia accords – had they won out right Cap and crew would have to go back into hiding.
“[The Snap also] united all the heroes for the final battle making them aware of each other plus building some trust amongst them.
“It made martyrs out of Iron Man/Cap/Nat which inspires a new generation of heroes (Cap didn’t die but the world thinks he did).
“[And] it caused a personality break in Thor where now he knows he can be beaten when it counts.”
