Spider-Man Far From Home hints THIS surprise character will be vital in NEXT movie?

WARNING: Post-credits scene spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home below.

The new Marvel movie has been a big hit at the global box office; putting Tom Holland’s take on the iconic character front-and-centre once again.

Holland is contracted to make a third solo caper for Peter Parker, and fans are already hard at work speculating on what it could involve.

A lot of talk has involved the character of Eugene Thompson, aka Flash, played by Tony Revolori.

He’s been established in the MCU as something of a low-level antagonist for Parker; dismissive and arrogant towards him at school, but a big fan of Spider-Man.

But now that Spider-Man’s identity has been revealed as Peter, could we see their relationship change?

In a post that has been 96% Upvoted by readers, clouddevourer wrote: “One of the characters that seem to be speculated about a lot is Flash. It does seem like he is being set up to have a bigger role in the next movie.

“Personally, I think he could be helping Peter when he becomes an outcast after the events of the credits scene.”

They added: “Flash admitted that Spiderman was his idol and someone he looked up to. He also seems to be quite insecure and wanting to prove himself.

“He is also very rich but left mostly to himself, his parents don’t seem interested in him.

“I think that after the events of the after credits scene, Spiderman is going to become somewhat of an outcast (kind of to contrast this movie’s theme of “it’s hard to be a hero” with a bit of “it’s even harder when everyone thinks you’re a villain”).

“Maybe he will have to go into hiding. Maybe he will be cut off from all the cool technology and support that SHIELD offered him.

“That’s where someone like Flash could be very useful – he has the means to help out Peter and since he knows him and knows he’s definitely not a cold-blooded murderer, plus the fact that he idolizes Spiderman, I think he would be instrumental in helping Spiderman redeem himself.”

Indeed, in the comics Flash and Peter become friends after Peter’s hero secret is unveiled. So is that his next step in the MCU?

That end credits scene in question also roped in a very familiar face from the Sam Raimi trilogy – and the writers have recently revealed that they never considered a recast.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is out now.
