Novak Djokovic: ‘Shifted our world upside down’ Wimbledon star addresses moment with wife

Wimbledon 2019 finalist Novak Djokovic, 32, tied the knot with wife Jelena, 33, back in 2014.

Four years ago, the couple welcomed their first son Stefan followed by their daughter Tara, who was born last year.

Novak has now opened up about his family life in a candid interview, admitting becoming parents turned the couple’s world “upside down”.

Speaking to Tennis World USA, he said: “She would agree that when we became parents four years ago, that has completely shifted our world upside down.

“Up to that moment we were also spiritual but still quite basic compared to what has happened after that.”

During the chat, Novak went on to praise his spouse for sacrificing her career for him.

Jelena studied in Milan in Italy at the beginning of their relationship and was swiftly offered various opportunities to further her career.

But, Novak revealed she sacrificed her career to save their relationship.

He explained: “She was having a lot of opportunities for her own career but she sacrificed that in order to live my career, live my dream in order to save the relationship.

“I am grateful for her and what she has done for our relationship and for me and I keep on continuing to learn from her so much.”

Jelena regularly gives her 451,000 Instagram followers an insight into family life at home with Novak.

In her most recent post, she shared a picture of the pair’s two children walking in a park.

She commented: “Peace. Love. Harmony. Childhood.”

Novak’s wife also shared a snap of the couple’s son watching him play tennis for the first time back in May.

“He watched his dad live for the first time,” she wrote followed by a love heart emoji.

Elsewhere, Roger Federer made a revelation about his wife Mirka.

The tennis star told reporters he and Mirka do not discuss tennis despite his spouse being a former player.

He said: “It is difficult to say that I don’t talk to Mirka about tennis.

“We have other things to talk about but I feel it during matches because I know her voice.”

Roger went on to praise his spouse for her continuous support.

“I am glad Mirka is around, nothing would happen without her,” he continued.
