The last time James Bond fans saw Blofeld, he was injured from a helicopter crash on Westminster Bridge. Daniel Craig’s 007 stood over him, with the villain expecting Bond to shoot him dead, but the spy chose not to and Blofeld was arrested. Come Bond 25, allegedly Craig’s last 007 movie, and there’s been no sign of Waltz returning as Bond’s nemesis, until now. Reliable Bond insider Baz Bamigboye has revealed the exclusive scoop that Blofeld is back for Bond 25.
Waltz told Italian channel Talky Movie: “No, I’m sorry. I’m really sad, but that’s the tradition, that there is a new (actor)… Sorry. I would’ve liked to.”
Of course, he could have been playing it coy, just as he was when he was asked if he was playing Blofeld in Spectre before the film released.
But since that interview, the director and script for Bond 25 have been through some changes and new helmer Cary Fukunaga was not ruling out his return in an interview last year.
Speaking with Inquirer.net, Cary was asked if the rumours Waltz’s Blofeld and Ben Whishaw’s Q would be back for Bond 25 were true.

He replied: “Who is saying those rumours? We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that.
“Those are two extraordinary actors, so if there is space for them in the story, I would absolutely want them there. “But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be.”
Of course, Rami Malek is the main villain in Bond 25, but is he just another subordinate of Blofeld’s in Spectre like Le Chiffre, Dominic Greene and Silva?
Or there’s always the option that Malek’s baddie is actually Blofeld with a new face – a trope used in classic Bond movies. If that were the case, maybe Waltz is only in flashback scenes?
Bond 25 is released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
