SVT, who aired Bonus Family (Bonusfamiljen) in Sweden, has revealed that there will not be another series of the comedy, which airs on Netflix in the UK. Netflix, however, could choose to commission Bonus Family season 4 is the show is enough of a hit for them. Bonus Family season four, if it is commissioned by the streaming service, would have a likely Netflix release date in July 2020.
Will there be another series of Bonus Family?
There are currently no plans for Bonus Family season four from either SVT or Netflix.
Anna Croneman, head of drama at SVT, said to Aftonbladet: “Right now there are no plans for a fourth season of Bonus Family. But we are not closing the doors on it for the future.”
However, they added that: “We are not closing the doors on it for the future,” meaning season four could air in the future.
Bonus Family creators Felix and Clara Herngren seemed to have not ruled out another series of the Swedish comedy.

Netflix could choose to continue Bonus Family onto season four and beyond, however.
Among other shows that aired internationally on Netflix, who then renewed them after they were cancelled by their original networks are American series Lucifer and Canadian hit Travellers.
However, these usually only run for one additional series on Netflix, suggesting that if we do get Bonus Family season four it will be the final series.
Currently, Netflix has not announced that it will renew Bonus Family, but they make an announcement if the show is a ratings hit over the coming weeks.
If Netflix does decide to commission Bonus Family season four, its release date is expected to be in mid-July 2020.
Netflix released the first two series of Bonusfamiljen together on Saturday, July 15, 2018.
Season three was then brought out on Friday, July 12, 2019.
As such, we might expect Bonus Family season four to come to Netflix in July, with the most likely release date being Friday, July 12, 2020.
A US version of Bonus Family was in the pipeline at one point on ABC, but according to Aftonbladet this has now been shelved.
