Neymar blasted in PSG statement as star snubs training amid Barcelona transfer rumours

And that has not gone down well with the French champions who have released a statement slamming the Brazilian.

Neymar is reportedly desperate to move back to the Nou Camp after leaving for PSG in 2017.

But PSG want to keep the 27-year-old at the club this summer despite his wants.

A club statement read: “This Monday, July 8, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was summoned for the resumption of activities of the professional group of Paris Saint-Germain.

“Paris Saint-Germain found that the player Neymar Jr did not show up at the agreed time and place, without having been authorised by the Club in advance.

“Paris Saint-Germain deplores this situation and will take the appropriate measures resulting from it.”

Neymar’s PSG team-mate Edison Cavani admitted last week that he is aware of the ongoing situation surrounding both the Brazilian’s injury and his possible future.

“I do not know what will happen, but as I said, I wish the best for him,” Cavani told beIN Sports.

“I spoke with Neymar about his situation when we were in France. Now, during the Copa America, no, we do not talk, and with everything that is happening, I would say that he knows exactly what he should do.

“I know it’s a difficult time for him, Neymar has the charisma and ability to move forward, I hope he recovers, I wish him the best and he recovers as quickly as possible.”

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has warned Neymar on moving back to Barcelona this summer though.

“Neymar’s an extraordinary player,” he said.

“But I don’t know [about his return].

“If he went back, would it be the same?

“I don’t know if he’d be the same player, but you can’t doubt how good he is.”

Neymar was a huge hit during his first spell at Barcelona.

The Samba star won two La Liga titles as well as the Champions League trophy in 2015.
