Piers Morgan: GMB presenter takes swipe at his replacement amid all-star reunion

Piers Morgan, 54, shared a picture him alongside Amanda Holden, 48, and Simon Cowell, 59, from the latter’s annual Syco summer party in view of his 634,000 Instagram followers. The trio judged Britain’s Got Talent together from 2007 up until Piers’ departure in 2011. The current line-up is Simon, Amanda, Alesha Dixon, 40, and David Walliams, 47. Alongside Piers’ latest picture of the trio, he wrote: “Reunited!

“The first – and best, if you go by the ratings – @bgt judging team. Be quite fun to work with these two again.

“We always have such a laugh,” he concluced the cheeky jibe.

Earlier this year, Piers was asked if he would return to panel by a Twitter user.

The fan asked: “Mate how much would it take to get you back on Britain’s Got Talent?”

In view of his 6.7 million followers, he replied: “£5 million. And the use of Cowell’s Bentley.”

Piers also joked he’d like David to leave the panel, adding he would pay for him to go.

The presenter has spoken out about his time on Britain’s Got Talent several times in the past.

Earlier this year on Good Morning Britain, he recalled how big the ratings were on the show when Susan Boyle, 60, was in the final in 2009.

The singer surprised the show’s judges and audience with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dreamed, but missed out on the win to Diversity.

Speaking to his co-star Susanna, he said: “When were the highest ratings for Britain’s Got Talent?

“Oh, I remember, it’s when I was on it – 20.3 million people watched the Susan Boyle final. It’s about half that now.”

He then said to the camera: “Simon, I’m available to boost those ratings.

“If you wanna get a bit of the old Good Morning Britain magic, just write a big cheque, baby.”

Earlier this year, Amanda Holden admitted to missing Piers Morgan sitting beside her on the panel.

She told The Sun: “I personally miss him. I don’t think anyone else does.

“There’s no room because David’s quite a lump on the end so, yeah, I think he’s the off-camera, and we know that Piers doesn’t do off-camera.

“It would be more like a subs bench wouldn’t it, if they invited him back?”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
