Ivanka Trump shock: First Daughter ’loved’ by foreign leaders at G20 summit

US President Donald Trump has claimed the foreign leaders think his daughter and senior adviser is “great”. The claim comes after Ivanka was criticised for her appearance at the event in Osaka, Japan. After she addressed leaders, a trend started asking her to resign.

Trump told CBS News: “I thought Ivanka was amazing at the G20 and I’ll tell you, the foreign leaders loved her. And they just think she’s great.

“She is very smart and she’s done a great job and she’s sacrificed a lot.

“Her and Jared work very hard and they sacrificed a lot to be doing this, but they want to do it.”

Trump added: “Ivanka has worked on almost 10 million jobs, training and going to companies and getting them to hire people.

“The people, the foreign leaders, really like her a lot.”

But the First Daughter has been mocked for in internet parodies after she appeared to awkwardly chip into discussions with leaders.

Ms Trump was shown in a clip posted by Emmanuel Macron’s office attempting to interject into a conversation between Mr Macron, Theresa May and Justin Trudeau.

Twitter has responded by photoshopping the presidential advisor into various historical events such as the Yalta Peace Conference and Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech.

Mr Macron office has admitted they “didn’t anticipate the reaction” to the video they released.

An official with the French presidential palace asserted that such clips from summits and similar events are shared often.

He said in a statement to Politico: “A larger narrative in the US about Ivanka’s diplomatic role, it was never our intention to feed into that narrative.

“We didn’t anticipate the reaction, and once again, we are not responsible for the use made of the clip.”
