Donald Trump July 4th parade: Tensions erupt as American flag BURNED next to White House

The US President has come under attack for his military parade America’s Independence Day, Fox News reported. Marching bands, parade floats and military tanks are set to be displayed in Washington following Trump’s address. But the protesters, Revolution Club, are keen to disrupt the events.

Following the scuffles, at least three people have been detained by the Secret Service.

Footage on social media showed the group linking arms and chanting “America was never great”.

One man is seen setting the flag ablaze before dropping it to the ground.

Another man, who claimed to be a veteran, is seen picking up the flag to put the flames out.

In a press release, protester Gregory Johnson said: “Tomorrow on the Fourth of July, I am going to be burning the American flag right here in front of the White House.

“I’m going to be speaking to the people of the world letting them know that there are people inside the borders of this country who stand with the people of the world.”

Amid the protests anti-war organisation Codepink made a 20ft Trump baby balloon next to the Washington monument.

The protesters went as far to give out Trump-baby balloons on sticks, Fox News reported.

But Trump supporters have hit dismissed the insulting remarks.

A 13-year-old supporter told Fox News: “They’re making a big stink about it but it’s actually pretty cute.

“I mean, why not love your president as you’d love a baby?”

Crowds of supporters and detractors gathered to take pictures with the balloon.
