Aljaž Škorjanec, 29, opened up about a painful injury he sustained during a performance on Instagram today. The Strictly Come Dancing professional is currently on tour with Giovanni Pernice, 28, and Gorka Marquez, 28, for their production Here Come The Boys. Aljaž revealed he “rolled” his ankle during the first act of the show last night. As a result, he was then physically unable to continue his performance.
He explained the situation in view of his 338,000 followers: “For the first time ever I couldn’t complete the show last night.
“I rolled my ankle during the first act and damaged ligaments on my left foot.
“I need to give my foot a rest for a few days so I can be back to my normal self as quick as possible!”
The star then took the opportunity to apologise to fans who attended the production for his absence.
He continued: “Can’t put it into words how gutted I am and so sorry for letting you down.
“You will be in the best hands with my brothers Giovanni & Gorka. Love! Aljaž.”
Aljaž’s fans and fellow professional dancers took to the comments section of the Strictly favourite’s post to share their messages of support.
His co-star Giovanni wrote: “Get well soon brother!! Love ya.”
Gorka added: “WE LOVE YOU!!”
Strictly winner Ore Oduba also replied: “Get better soon brother.”
A fan of the dancer then responded: “Such a disappointment for you hope you are back fighting fit and dancing soon cos you are brilliant.”(sic)
Another wrote back: “Hope your ankle gets better real soon. I was in the audience last night and everybody understood why you didn’t appear in the 2nd Act.”
Elsewhere, Aljaž’s wife Janette Manrara, 35, recently addressed her plans to start a family with her husband.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the Strictly professional divulged: “Definitely going to have kids, don’t know when,
“I think right now our career is doing so well, we’re so excited to be back on Strictly this year, doing this tour right now.
“Dancing as you can imagine is a very physical, very demanding career, so we’ll see.”
The brunette beauty then gushed about her other half: “I know Aljaž is definitely gonna be an incredible dad.”(sic)
