Henderson came through the youth ranks at Manchester United but is yet to make a first-team appearance.
He has had four different loan spells away from the club, with last season’s time at Sheffield United his most successful.
Henderson started all 46 Championship games as the Blades earned automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Sheffield United boss Dean Wilder has confirmed he would like to bring the 22-year-old back to Bramall Lane for the upcoming season.
Henderson has recently been at the European Under-21 Championship where England crashed out at the group stage.

Sky Sports News reporter David Reed believes a move back to Sheffield United would be perfect for Henderson.
And with David de Gea’s contract at Old Trafford expiring next year, an impressive campaign from Henderson could lead to a real opportunity when he returns.
“The mistake kind of encapsulated most of the England performances there at the Under-21 European Championships,” Reed said on the Transfer Talk podcast.
“But up until that point you have to say that Henderson has been one of the standout players for England.
“Actually he was one of the standout players in the Championship last season as well.
“For his development I would say yes it is the perfect move for him to go back to Sheffield United this season.
“He needs to play, and with a lot of uncertainty really around the future of Manchester United, this could be a really important time for him to be getting game time.
“There’s no resolution as of yet for the contract of David de Gea going forward.
“So there may well be an opening for the No 1 shirt in the next 18 months to two years.
“So for him to be getting first-team experience is absolutely vital.
“If he continues on this upward trajectory, there’s no reason why he potentially couldn’t take over from David de Gea at some point.”
