Copthorne Primary has also banned single word replies to questions, a move backed by the Education Minister. Dan responded to the news by posting the ‘embarrassed’ emoji. Addressing his 79,000 followers he asked: “If you could get rid of one overused word or phrase what would it be?”
Several posters commented they disliked the use of “so” at the beginning of a sentence, whilst some also expressed apathy at the use of “of” for the abbreviation of “have”.
Copthorne Primary is rated as outstanding by regulator Ofsted in July 2010.
Head Christabel Shepherd explained the decision to The Sun: “When children are giving you an answer and they say ‘is it, like, when you’re, like’ they haven’t actually made a sentence at all.
“They use the word all the time and we are trying to get rid of it.”

Dan has posted about Love Island, last year tweeting his amazement that: “I’ve just read that more people applied for Love Island this year than Oxford & Cambridge! What is happening to us?”
Lee Westwood then chimed in and the golfer joked with Dan: “Is it because it’s on ITV and not BBC?”
Dan also proceeded to have a bizarre spat with another Twitter user who accused of “more tweet theft” before saying “you ought to be ashamed” after several posts on the news were made that morning.
Former Final Score host Dan replied: “I read it in the paper this morning. Quite clearly said that I just read it”
After this response, the user replied back saying: “You said you read it. You didn’t say in the paper. You read it on twitter.”
Dan then posted a picture of a chair and explained: “I can tell you where I was sitting when I read it in the paper if you like. I was in this chair.”
