How Kate Middleton is championing diamonds on behalf of the Queen

Kate Middleton has been inspired by the Queen to champion diamond brooches, causing a wave of copy cats to crop up in the fashion marketplace.

According to an expert, the Duchess of Sussex has aped one of the Queen’s favourite ways to wear precious gems.

Grant Mobley renowned diamond expert and gemologist comments told Express.co.uk: “Kate Middleton also champions this classic jewellery genre and she is single-handedly bringing diamond brooches back into fashion with labels like Gucci and Alexander McQueen embracing the brooch trend.”

The expert claims that the Duchess of Cambridge may well have been inspired to wear the brooches after being inspired by Her Majesty.

Perhaps she has her future as the wife of the King of Britain in mind.

He said: “There’s no doubt about it, Kate Middleton has become a style icon since joining the Royal Family and her wardrobe is always in high demand.

“It seems that Kate’s style is somewhat inspired by Her Majesty, particularly when it comes to her love for natural diamond breastpins.

“On behalf of the younger generation, Kate has been advocating this classic jewellery genre, something the Queen is especially fond of.”

Kate has worn a number of diamond brooches belonging to the Queen.

This includes the New Zealand fern brooch, made with baguette and brilliant diamonds set in platinum.

She has also worn the pearl and diamond leaf brooch and and the diamond maple leaf brooch.

However, this trend is not only a favourite of The Queen’s as many other senior royal women also own a number of stunning diamond brooches, many of which have been passed down from previous generations, which is something the royals are known for.

Grant said: “The royals have always known the true value of natural diamond jewellery and know that thanks to their rarity, timelessness and enduring emotional value, they will always be passed down to future generations.”

It may well be the influence of the British Royal Family as to why many international fashion brands are currently creating breastpins.

Grant said: “Perhaps partly thanks to Kate and the Royal Family in general, we are now seeing global fashion labels such as Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Chanel and others embracing the brooch trend.

“It is no longer reserved for older women – instead diamond pins have become the hottest accessory in recent months, personalising an outfit in a way other accessories cannot.

“They have a timeless quality about them that means you can keep them forever, especially ones made out of natural diamonds, a precious and authentic jewel that is always on-trend.”

Kate Middleton wore £4,000 pearl earrings in recent weeks, another big favourite of the Queen and upper classes in general.

Kate’s earrings, called the Cavalfiore Pear Studs, are by a British designer, Cassanda Goad, and cost Cassandra Goad.
