Eevee Evolution name trick: Pokemon Go fans can grab Leafeon and Glaceon NOW

There’s a great way of expanding your Pokemon collection in 2019 that some fans may have forgotten about.

Discovered back in 2016, it was revealed that by naming certain Eevee Pokemon in the game with special phrases, you could unlock a guaranteed evolution.

And this year saw both Leafeon and Glaceon made part of that same collection, bringing the total number of Eevee evolutions to seven.

All the names featured in Pokemon Go as part of the Eevee naming trick come from different parts of the popular franchise.

And these latest names have been pulled from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, games launched on the Nintendo 3DS.

Leafeon is now able to evolve by naming an Eevee Linnea, with the same process working for Glaceon and the name, Rea.

EEVEE NAMING TRICK FOR POKEMON GO

So to recap, naming your chosen Eevee “Linnea” will guarantee that it will evolve into a Leafeon.

Naming your chosen Eevee “Rea” will guarantee that it will evolve into a Glaceon.

You will also need to have enough Candies available to complete the evolution cycle and it should also mean that you won’t need any special evolutionary items.

It should be noted that this Eevee naming trick only works once and means you will need a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure to catch more.

And as Pokemon Go Trainers will already know, there are several other Eevee naming tricks that can be used on Android and iOS.

At the current count, there should be around seven different Eevee evolutions available through the naming trick.

And there is another Eevee evolution missing from the list that will appear alongside the launch of Gen 6. This would be Sylveon, a Fairy-type Pokemon that probably won’t appear in-game until 2020.

For all the others, here’s a list of names needed to unlock the wanted Eevee evolution:

For a Flareon, name the Eevee Pyro.

For a Jolteon, name the Eevee Sparky.

For a Vaporeon, name the Eevee Rainer.

For an Espeon, name the Eevee Sakura.

And if you want an Umbreon, name the Eevee Tamao.
