PS4 Free Games WARNING: Surprise E3 2019 download for PlayStation fans

A new PS4 free games update has been announced this week and will be available to download from the PlayStation Store today.

A wave of new content has been revealed for Fallout 76, Bethesda’s online-only title that came in for some criticism during its first year.

Devoid of the usual Fallout traits, like NPCs, some fans struggled to enjoy 76, while others couldn’t get past its other launch problems.

Critical bugs and problematic AI left many unable to continue their adventures in the Appalachian Wastelands.

Bethesda has continued to support Fallout 76 and just announced a new range of content and game modes during E3 2019.

And during the next week, gamers on PS4, Xbox One and PC will be able to try Fallout 76 for free.

This will include the new Nuclear Winter Battle Royale mode, which Bethesda says will be available via a pre-beta sneak peek.

In Nuclear Winter, you’ll take part in a 52-player fight to the death.

Survivors will rank up and unlock new and exclusive Perks, while also being able to deploy a C.A.M.P. and even launch nukes.

Playing and surviving in Nuclear Winter will be your key to progressing through the Overseer ranks and gaining access to new areas of Vault 51, where you’ll uncover some of the Vault’s mysteries.

It’s unclear what this will include, although a new post from Bethesda does state that Nuclear Winter release date info will be shared after the Free Trial is over.

“Nuclear Winter blends the competitive battle royale style with mechanics only Fallout can provide – from Power Armor and Perk cards, to C.A.M.P.s and wasteland creatures,” a message from Bethesda confirms.

“Many of these mechanics have been adjusted to better suit this new gameplay mode and map size, including the stats of your weapons, armour, Chems and more.

“And while you can carry your Adventure Mode character into Nuclear Winter, their level doesn’t affect how much damage you can inflict or receive.

“Everyone starts each match on an even playing field. You raise your damage output and increase defensives by tracking down weapons and armour as the match progresses.”

“You can start with a new character, or you can bring a chosen character from Adventure or Survival Mode.

“Your character’s physical appearance will carry over from Adventure/Survival, but none of your weapons or Perk cards will. You’ll be dropped into Nuclear Winter clad in only a Vault 51 jumpsuit with your trusty Pip-Boy on your wrist, unless you’ve unlocked some fun outfits, which can be equipped from the start in the staging area.

“All your base game S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats will be brought into Nuclear Winter, but you won’t have any of your Perk cards. Those will be unlocked as you play through the new mode. You also won’t have any of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. passive bonuses, as those would provide some players with an unfair advantage.”

The Fallout 76 Free Trial week will be available on all platforms from June 10 till June 17.
