Caroline Flack – the host of Love Island 2019 – flaunted her trim figure on the show this week after it debuted on Monday. The 36-year-old presenter has revealed that her most recent weight loss was thanks to cutting out one thing in particular from her diet. The regime saw the blonde beauty shed over a stone ahead of Love Island. Flack explained in an interview that her dieting attempt saw her completely stop eating sugar.
The Love Island host revealed that quitting the sweet stuff was what made the “biggest difference” to her physique.
“What made the biggest difference to how I looked and felt was cutting out all sugar,” she told Your Fitness.
Eating sugar can lead to dieters consuming more later on and jeopardising weight loss.
“Sugar provides empty calories and stimulates the effects of your Ghrelin (the hunger hormone), which stimulates appetite, making you more likely to over-eat and to opt for foods which don’t satiate you for a prolonged period of time,” Nutritionist Jenna Hope told Cosmopolitan.

The NHS explains that Britons as a whole eat far too much sugar – 700g a week, amounting to an average of 140 teaspoons per person.
The health website adds: “Added sugars, such as table sugar, honey and syrups, shouldn’t make up more than 5 per cent of the energy you get from food and drink each day. That’s about 30g a day for anyone aged 11 and older.”
Caroline Flack has also insisted that she isn’t cutting down on calories in a bid to stay trim.
”I’m consuming more calories now than ever before, they’re just the right calories,” she told the magazine.
“I’m always starving in the morning so I eat a lot for breakfast it’s usually scrambled or poached eggs, bacon, avocado, mushrooms or sometimes even steak.”
Flack has also been hitting the gym as part of her 12-week-detox ahead of Love Island 2019.
She has been working with celebrity personal trainer Bradley Simmons whom the presenter is rumoured to also be dating.
However, Flack has insisted that her image improvement has all been for herself.
She said in her Your Fitness interview: “I’d hate to think I did this for anyone else.
“The truth is I did this for me to make myself feel the very best I could and this is the way I decided to do it.
“I don’t like to weigh myself. But it was never really about losing weight.”
