In Fear the Walking Dead there is a whole new Walker threat and it is bigger than ever before and threatens to change the landscape of the Fear world.
The premiere of the AMC show’s with season introduced the new nuclear walkers and it gave away a significant clue as to what happened to Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) when he left The Walking Dead in season nine.
These walkers appear to be the ones that took Rick away in the helicopter in season nine of The Walking Dead.
The helicopter had on its side a logo that suggested something dangerous and a biohazard threat.
This logo has now reappeared in Fear the Walking Dead on the uniform of one of the walkers who are set to terrorise the group.
Are the nuclear walkers the ones that Rick will come across in his upcoming movie trilogy?
The movies are set to resume Rick’s story as fans find out where he is going after his exit in season nine of The Walking Dead.
The nuclear walkers were introduced in the Fear the Walking Dead premiere when Althea (Maggie Grace) was taken prisoner after she crashed the group’s plane.
Approaching her, the walker, dressed in a scary black uniform, attempt to attack her.
She retaliated and managed to escape back to Morgan Jones (Lennie James) and reviewed the footage she had recorded of the walker.
She said: “There’s a story here. I know my tapes haven’t done s**t to help us so far, but this one might.”
Disappointed with her footage, she goes back to find out more about this mysterious walker.
Despite Morgan’s warnings to wait, she goes out alone at night to investigate and finds a pouch inside the walker’s uniform and inside is a map and clear plastic cards showing different zones and boundaries.
These have on them the logo on three interlocking rings, which is the sign seen on Rick’s helicopter.
Radioing Morgan, she confirms: “I was right, there’s a story here.”
However, before she can head back she is hit over the head from behind and her future is left uncertain from that point.
This crossover between Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead could suggest the walkers are present in the Commonwealth in The Walking Dead.
Could Rick be going with them to the Commonwealth and that is where the movies pick up from?
There is also the suggestion Rick could appear alongside the Fear cast if they are taken to the same place he was.
Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC next Sunday and AMC UK the following day.
