Avengers Endgame: Was THIS moment a secret Captain America and Peggy Carter HINT?

When Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, travels back in a fresh attempt to retrieve the Space Stone, he sees – from afar – Peggy Carter. She doesn’t see him, but it’s implied that this moment seeds his decision at the end of the film to stay in ‘the past’ and spend the rest of his life with her. But there was more to that moment than meets the eye.

It’s already been revealed that Peggy was talking about a certain Agent Braddock in that moment, although you’d be forgiven for not hearing it.

Fans have assumed this was a nod to the Marvel comics favourite Captain Britain – aka Brian Braddock.

But a new fan theory has a slightly different spin on it – and it’s been 95% Upvoted on Reddit.

User CinematicESP suggested that Braddock was the alias Steve used when he was back living with Peggy.

They wrote: “If Steve is trying to lay low when he goes back in time to spend a life with Peggy, it would make sense that he might use an alias.

“What if the Agent Braddock mentioned in Endgame was Steve, hence Peggy’s concern for his whereabouts?

“Jumping off from that, perhaps they settle down in Peggy’s home country of England to raise a family… including Brian and Betsy Braddock, either their children or grandchildren.

“Captain Britain, the super soldier son (or grandson) of Captain America.”

One user excitedly added: “…And they make their debut on Peter Parker’s European field trip!”

But someone else pointed out that Peggy may not have been talking about Steve-as-Braddock, given that Peggy and Steve’s happy ending would have happened in a separate timeline.

“That’d be a nice theory if it was possible for Cap to influence his own past like that,” they said.

“But he can’t, as the movie clearly explains; Cap and Peggy lived in an alternate timeline.”

Whatever the case, the nod to Captain Britain is already getting fans very excited indeed. Is an MCU arrival on the cards?

Avengers: Endgame is out now.
