EE DOWN: Hundreds of customers report connection issues with UK network

EE is the UK’s largest mobile network used by millions of Britons.

But this morning it appears hundreds have reported issues when attempting to make phone calls.

Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 500 reports at one time from customers insisting EE’s service is not working as normal.

An outage map showed most of the nation being affected by the issues.

A number of customers have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at the outage that appears to only be affecting those wanting to make phone calls.

One said: “EE is the network down? Can’t make or receive calls??”

Another tweeted: “EE is network down can’t call any network but can get calls from other networks also can get voice mails my friend has same problem.”

Responding to some customers on Twitter, EE has suggested restarting any devices affected by the problem could provide a possible remedy.

The network said: “Hey, Matthew. Are you still unable to make a call? If so, can you try restarting your phone and try again.”

However, a manual restart does not appear to be fixing the issue for all users.

Responding to the EE tweet, one customer said: “I’ve tried restarting my phone and still can’t call out.

Another stated: “EE hey. Can’t make phone calls. Have restarted my phone. Is the network down still?”
