Game of Thrones: Will book ENDING of George RR Martin's A Dream of Spring be different?

Game of Thrones finally ends tonight but has been in uncharted territory for the last couple of seasons. A Song of Ice and Fire, the fantasy book series by Martin on which the TV show is based, still has two books to go in The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. Martin hasn’t released a book in the series since 2011’s A Dance With Dragons when Game of Thrones first aired on HBO. So how have the showrunners been coping?

He added: “But there’s no way to get in all the detail, all the minor characters, all the secondary characters.

“The series has been extremely faithful compared to 97% of all television and movie adaptations of literary properties.

“But it’s not completely faithful. And it can’t be.

“Otherwise, it would have to run another five seasons.”

So by the sounds of it, whoever ends up on the Iron Thrones in the final episode of Game of Thrones, is Martin’s plan for A Dream of Spring’s book ending.

That is unless he decides to change it because of fan backlash.

After all, the final season of Game of Thrones is the worst reviewed of the series, with a petition calling for it to be remade having topped 1 million.

But Martin changing the ending of the books seems like a highly unlikely scenario if it’s one the author has been confident in for years.
