Pointless: ‘HOW?’ Richard Osman stunned as Alexander Armstrong makes incredible prediction

Richard, 48, was on hand to help Pointless host Alexander, 49, give the correct answers to the general knowledge questions posed to this afternoon’s contestants.

After introducing the four new pairings, Alexander got the BBC quiz show underway and showed off his unknown skill when speaking with contestants James and Sharif.

As they were new to the show today, Alexander had no previous knowledge about the pair and asked them to introduced themselves.

Sharif told the host: “I’m an event sales and marketing manager, based in East London.”

Alexander remarked: “So, if people want a big launch somewhere in the Shoreditch area, they come to you,” to which the Sharif replied: “Well, I work for a particular venue so we’ve got a rooftop bar and restaurant.”

Realising he’d stated the location of the venue without Sharif telling him, Alexander reiterated: “Is it in the Shoreditch area.

After confirming Alexander was correct, the host was left catching flies by his seemingly mind reading skills.

Richard looked even more stunned by the discovery of Alexander’s new found skills, stating: “That’s amazing. How did you do that?

“You’re like Derren Brown,” Richard quipped, before exclaiming: “That’s extraordinary.”

Following the introduction, Sharif went on to answer the question before Alexander moved on to speak with Alettia and Sital.

Introducing himself Sital explained: “I’m a shopkeeper brining you doughnuts, and I’ve been reliably informed that you’ve had some.”

Alexander told the audience: “Sitar brought us doughnuts last time,” as Richard looked on with a quizzical expression.

With his co-host and Sitar in the midst of their conversation, Richard interrupted the pair.

The presenter said: “I’m so sorry. Can I just stop you both?” before Richard turned to Alexander and asked: “You’ve had one of the doughnuts?”

Rather sheepishly, Alexander remarked: ‘I thought you’d had all yours,” to which Richard was less than impressed by the response.

Richard exclaimed: “Unbelievable. Did you really have one? Which one did you have?”

Alexander explained: “The raspberry cream cheese one with the hidden swirl,” with Richard remarking: “Well, I am stunned. I really am.”

Later on in the show, James and Sharif were back in the spotlight as they managed to knockout the rest of the competition to make it to the jackpot round.

Unfortunately, their efforts proved fruitless as they failed to get their hands on the £2,000 cash prize.

Earlier this week, Richard revealed to the audience a secret about one of the shows most infamous props after making a joke about the Royals.

Pointless airs weekdays at 5.15pm on BBC One.
