The popular Amazon Fire 7 tablet is back with some extra grunt and improved features.

Along with those extra additions, there’s also 7-inch IPS display, seven-hour battery life and front and rear cameras.

Amazon is also boasting that its new tablet is twice as durable as Apple’s new iPad mini and stands up against drops, tumbles, spills, and everyday wear and tear.

“Fire 7 is our best-selling tablet with tens of millions sold worldwide,” said Eric Saarnio, Head of Amazon Devices EU.

“For under £50, we’re making it even better for customers with a faster processor and 2x the base storage, so customers can enjoy even more of their favourite entertainment at home and on- the-go.

“And, with the addition of hands-free access to Alexa on Fire 7, it’s never been easier to get the news, call an Alexa contact, find a recipe, play music, and more.”

The all-new Fire 7 comes in Black, Twilight Blue, Plum, and Sage and costs £49.99,.

This new device is available from today for pre-order at www.amazon.co.uk/fire7 and will begin shipping 6 June.

Fire 7 will also be available in stores and online at Argos, Dixons, John Lewis & Partners, Tesco, very.co.uk and littlewoods.co.uk.

Along with this adult tablet, there’s also a new Kids Edition launching alongside it.

This is basically the same device but it comes with a 2-year worry-free guarantee which means if you break it, Amazon will replace it free of charge.

There’s also a free year of Kids Unlimited which includes access to thousands of kid-friendly books, Audible audiobooks, educational apps, games, and videos—all hand-selected and age appropriate.

And the tablet also arrives with a new kid-proof case which now features an adjustable stand.

The Fire 7 Kids Edition comes in blue and pink, as well as a new purple colour option, and is available for £99.99 starting today at www.amazon.co.uk/fire7-kids-edition.

“Fire Kids Edition tablets are the #1 best-selling kids’ tablets in the UK and today, the Fire 7 Kids Edition is getting even better with a faster processor and a new kid-proof bumper with a stand,” added Eric Saarnio.

“Now, kids can easily watch their favourite videos, read a book, play an educational app, or listen to a kid-friendly Audible audiobook using the build-in stand. We think parents and kids are going to love it.”
