Lady Gabriella Windsor missing out wedding tradition Eugenie and Meghan Markle had

Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding this weekend will have many differences to Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie’s, despite being held at the same venue, St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

There will not be a carriage reception, for example, and the wedding will not be televised.

Harper’s Bazaar has reported that Gabriella will not be have a reception held inside of Windsor Castle.

However, both Meghan and Eugenie had these receptions in the castle after their ceremonies.

These day time receptions were hosted by the Queen in the historic building, and important guests attended.

However, these may not have been the same guests as were invited to the more intimate evening receptions the couples had.

Meghan and Harry went on to have a reception at Frogmore House, where it is reported Ed Sheerhan performed.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank had a reception at the Royal Lodge, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s home on the grounds of the Windsor estate.

Instead of the interim reception at Windsor Castle, Gabriella will have a reception at Frogmore House after.

A statement was issued by Buckingham Palace on behalf of Lady Gabriella’s parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, on 19 September.

It read: “Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston.

“The engagement took place in August; Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark.”

What tiara will Lady Gabriella Windsor wear?

One piece the royal could wear is the Kent City of London Fringe tiara.

However, it has also been suggested that she might wear the Kent Pearl Festoon Tiara, which her mother wore in the past.

Gabriella’s mother Princess Michael did not wear a tiara for her ceremony – but she did wear the Kent City of London Fringe tiara for her reception.

An expert has revealed one way in which the wedding will be similar to Princess Eugenie’s.

Vaishali Shah, from Ananya Cards, weighed in on the stationery for Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding.

She said: “We expect the wedding invitation to include the crest of Windsor Castle, similar to the wedding invitations sent out by Princess Eugenie.

“The colour palette is likely to be a simple black and white palette offset with metallic influences.
