Donald Trump IGNORES Melania in Mother’s Day message – so FLOTUS tweets her OWN tribute

Throughout the day his tweets accelerated, all focusing on defending his position as President, attacking the Democrats and dismissing the Russia probe, but there was no sign of a Mother’s Day tribute to his wife Melania Trump.

Eventually he did tweet a simple photo, a generic message to the American people, wishing them a happy Mother’s Day.

On Mother’s Day it was business as usual for the US President, he tweeted: “Think of it, I became President of the United States in one of the most hard-fought and consequential elections in the history of our great nation.

“From long before I ever took office, I was under a sick and unlawful investigation concerning what has become known as the Russian Hoax.”

He added: ”My campaign was being seriously spied upon by intel agencies and the Democrats.

“This never happened before in American history, and it all turned out to be a total scam, a Witch Hunt, that yielded No Collusion, No Obstruction.

“This must never be allowed to happen again!”

Melania Trump however chose to tweet her own tribute to mother’s across the US and the world, she said: ”Today, and every day, let us ensure that our mothers know and feel our deep gratitude for the gift of life and for their unmatched sacrifices to strengthen our families and our nation.”

Meanwhile the President also tweeted quotes from Fox Business Network’s latest episode of Lou Dobbs Tonight.

During the episode, Dobbs and Great America PAC Chair Ed Rollins referred to the Russia probe as “collusion delusion”, which struck a favourable tone with Mr Trump.

Last year on Mother’s Day President Trump played golf.

On Friday, he participated in a celebration of military mother’s at the White House, where he reminisced on how much he loves and misses his mother Mary.

He said: “I had a great mother Mary, I loved my mother, I miss my mother.”

His mother, Mary Trump was born Mary Anne MacLeod on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

She immigrated to the United States, she died in August of 2000.
