Gorka Marquez, 28, and Dianne Buswell, 30, have known each other for many years through the dance world, having met long before they both joined the professional line-up on Strictly Come Dancing. In a recent episode of Joe Sugg, 27, and Dianne’s In The Pan YouTube series, Gorka joined the couple, who first met on the show last year, to help whip up some authentic Spanish dishes. Preparing to show them how to make Spanish drink Tinto de verano to accompany the meal, Gorka told Dianne she had, in fact, tried it with him before. “Did I?” she asked, sounding surprised. “Yeah, remember when we were…” he tailed off.
“She obviously had too many, can’t remember it,” Joe chipped in jokily.
“Yeah, I went on a cruise with Gorka one time, Joe,” Dianne informed her social media star boyfriend.
“Back in the good old days,” he quipped, as Gorka laughed: “Sorry.
“We used to dance some times,” the Spanish star added.
Appearing to try to steer the conversation, Dianne stated: “Fun fact, we’ve known each other for a very, very long time.
“We knew each other way before Strictly Come Dancing.”
“How did you meet?” Joe asked, sounding sincerely curious.
“Ummm…” she replied, before Gorka awkwardly joked her boyfriend shouldn’t ask, saying: “Don’t…”
As the trio laughed at his cheeky implication, Gemma Atkinson’s beau went on to poke fun at Joe’s query, making a prodding motion as he chuckled: “He’s like, ‘How did you meet?’”
“Careful, I’ve got a very large olive oil here. And a glaze,” Joe warned lightheartedly.
Joe and Dianne confirmed their romance just days after they were pipped to the post in last year’s Strictly final by Stacey Dooley, 32, and Kevin Clifton, 36.
Gorka, meanwhile, has been in a relationship with former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress Gemma, 34, for over a year after first meeting when she took part in Strictly in 2017.
They went public with their relationship shortly after dancing on last year’s live tour together.
Earlier this year, Gemma and Gorka announced they were expecting their first child together.
Since then, she has been keeping fans updated with her pregnancy journey via social media.
Yesterday, she praised Gorka in a gushing post about the dad-to-be, telling her one million followers: “I’ve had a lot of lovely praise in pregnancy but you dads play a huge part in keeping us feeling safe and looked after.
“From back rubs when baby is lay funny, to getting up in the night with me when I can’t sleep, helping me carry things, reading with me all the baby blogs, coming to my appointments and encouraging me daily that everything will be ok when push comes to shove (literally),”(sic) she continued. “All of the above you do in between the most hectic work schedule.
“I feel so lucky to have you in my corner and I’m grateful to have you in my life Gorks. Mini Marquez is so lucky having you as papa.”(sic)
