Australia PM Scott Morrison EGGED in shock attack at election rally – ‘IDIOTS!’

He was present at the election campaign function before the furious spectator launched the egg at him. In footage captured by Australian television, the item ricocheted off Mr Morrison’s head and hurtled away. A security guard quickly apprehended the woman, who was dragged away by the authorities.

She was described as wearing a beanie and casual clothes.

Moments after the shocking incident, Mr Morrison was seen massaging his head where the egg had struck.

He then helped an elderly woman who was pushed to the floor in the scuffle.

Writing on Twitter, Mr Morrison said: “My concern about today’s incident in Albury was for the older lady who was knocked off her feet.

“I helped her up and gave her a hug.

“Our farmers have to put up with these same idiots who are invading their farms and their homes.

“We will stand up to thuggery whether it’s these cowardly activists who have no respect for anyone, or militant unionists standing over small businesses and their employees on work sites.”

Mr Morrison had been visiting Albury, a constituency in New South Wales, which is a key area for his election push.

Albury’s voters are expected to back an independent candidate there as rural voters turn their back on Mr Morrison and his government.

Following the incident, the woman told reporters her action “speaks for itself” and referred to issues surrounding Manus Island, where Australia has detained refugees.

In March, a teenager smashed an egg onto the head of a controversial right-wing Australian lawmaker who had blamed New Zealand’s mass mosque shootings on its immigration programme.

Australia goes to the polls on May 18.
