Emilia Clarke: Game of Thrones star's blunder as she gets Kit Harington's NAME wrong

The actress, 32, is close friends with Kit Harington, also 32, having both starred in Game of Thrones since it first aired in 2011. Earlier today, Emilia Clarke delighted her 20 million Instagram followers with a hilarious look at their lives away from filming, uploading a photo of the pair of them larking about during some down time in Iceland. They could be seen putting their heads through two holes in a photo board, posing as a viking couple. However, in the caption, she misspelled her co-star’s name with an erroneous extra ‘R’ in the middle.

“The family portrait,” she wrote. “#kitharrington #jeneregretterein #okmaybehereiseetheresemblance #season8gameofthrones.”(sic)

Aside from the mistake in Kit’s name, Emilia’s hashtags made reference to the fact her character, Daenerys Targaryen, has found romance with Jon Snow.

The on-screen couple recently learned the truth about their relationship: that the Mother of Dragons is in fact Jon’s aunt.

Fans didn’t appear to notice the spelling blunder, instead commenting on the adorable nature of the picture.

“Blimey! You’re making my heart extra mushy!” one said, while another gushed: “Can I be a part of this family?!”

A third called them “too cute”, as a fourth chipped in: “You are both adorable.”

Kit and Emilia have been firm friends for over a decade and he previously recalled the first time he met her during an interview with Elle in 2017.

“I remember vividly the first time I met Emilia, which was in the hotel bar in Belfast, before season one,” he said.

“I was sort of bowled over by this absolutely stunning, petite girl with this wicked sense of humour. We became very fast friends quite quickly.”

He also told the publication: “Emilia is so sweet, so giving, but she also has a filthy, filthy mind when she wants to.”

Speaking to Variety, the actress has also opened up about their friendship, saying: “Kit and I are counterparts in terms of experience.

“We are pretty much the same age and our characters have had parallel journeys, and we as actors have had parallel journeys.

“We’ve both done stupid action movies we regret and fabulous things we’re proud of and we’ve always come back to Thrones,” she added.

Both Game of Thrones stars have also admitted their platonic relationship off-screen made filming romantic moments between their characters a little awkward.
