Louis van Gaal and Ryan Giggs ended Wilfried Zaha's Man Utd career with these SEVEN words

Zaha was signed in January 2013, and was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing at Old Trafford.

After signing a £10million deal, with the potential to rise to £15m, the youngster made just two league appearances before being loaned to Cardiff City.

He was then loaned back to Crystal Palace after being left out of the squad by then United boss David Moyes, before eventually sealing a permanent move back.

He eventually left United after Louis Van Gaal made it clear that he would not continue at the club, while the Dutchman was in charge at Old Trafford.

Speaking to MailSport, Zaha opened up on his departure from United, and said that pre-season with Van Gaal was like “being on trial at my own club.”

“Wayne Rooney said to me “you’ve trained the best”.

“Then I go inside, have the meeting with them [van Gaal and Ryan Giggs] and they just said: “We just don’t think you’re good enough”. So I said “OK then, I just want to go on loan”

“Not being given a fair opportunity to play at all and being called a flop is what hurt me even more. How can I be if I wasn’t given a fair chance?’

“I see Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, these types of players, and dribbling wise I’m up there with them but they have been given the platform to perform.

“Every day I wanted to go on Twitter or Instagram and say something but I couldn’t. That would be unprofessional.”

Zaha has been on fire for Palace this season, having scored eight goals in 30 Premier League games.

The winger has won six penalties this campaign, more than any other player in the league, and his performances have led many to believe he is ready for a return to a top six club.

However, he stopped short of demanding a move away from Selhurst Park, as he praised the reception he got from fans and officials at the club.

“The people at Palace showed me crazy love, the most real fans in the Premier League,” he continued.

“Throughout every game, no matter how I’m playing, if I’m going through bad spells, not scoring for a little while they will back you.

“For me to be better, to achieve what I know I am capable of, I have to aim to play at the very highest level, to win trophies.

“I’m blessed to have come this far in my playing career, and I have so many people to thank for that. But I feel like there is so much more I have to offer.”
