Steven Fletcher goal: Pictures PROVE Sheffield Wednesday hand ball leaving Norwich FUMING

With the Canaries on the cusp on the promotion back to the Premier League, it was on a knife edge in East Anglia.

Marco Stiepermann gave the hosts the lead in the first half as Daniel Farke’s men went in search of three vital points.

But they were then stunned by Fernando Forestieri’s thunderbolt.

The major talking point came in the second half when Steven Fletcher slid in on goalkeeper Tim Krul to challenge for the ball.

Diving to his left, Krul kept out the initial effort from the striker before the ball was bundled into the net.

At first the Dutchman was adamant he had two hands on the ball, but replays showed that wasn’t the only talking point surrounding the goal’s legitimacy.

Fletcher appeared to deflects the ball into the net with his hand, and there are pictures to prove it.

If this comes back to haunt Norwich in their push for promotion, they will no doubt be left furious.

Norwich fans took aim at the Sky Bet Championship Twitter account, making their feelings be known.

“Disgraceful referee tonight,” one fan tweeted.

Another added: “Clear handball lol you really don’t want us to go up.”

A third said: “Honestly the refs in this league get worse and worse and nobody seems to want anything done about it.”
