Jenni Falconer: ‘It’s so painful’ TV and radio star on 'freaky' health condition

Jenni Falconer, 43, has been open about having Raynaud’s disease on her fingers and has shared some snaps to her Instagram account.

Now the TV and radio presenter, who also has her own podcast called RunPod, has revealed what it’s like living with it.

Raynaud’s disease affects your blood circulation when you’re cold, anxious, stressed which means your fingers or toes may change colour, according to NHS.

Speaking to Express.co.uk about being open with the condition online, she said: “I wanted to show how weird it looked.

“It’s a bit freaky, little bit painful and I thought I would share it with everyone.”

She continued: “There’s a lot of people who have it and they don’t know what it is.”

Explaining what it is, she went on: “It’s triggered by cold weather but I can also be on holiday on the beach and a cold gust of wind hits and I get it.

“The painful part is when you get a pins and needles feeling like prickly and sharp.

“So when all your fingers go bright white, it’s quite quirky but it’s quite painful.”

Jenni said the feeling will last about 10 minutes before it goes again.

“It’s just one of those things,” she said. “I make sure I wear gloves in the winter.”

Earlier this month, Jenni shared a picture of her pale white fingers on Instagram.

She wrote: “Bring back the warm sunshine…#raynauds #poorcirculation.

“Yesterday it was perfect; a relatively warm, sunny day with little breeze.”

Jenni added: “Today in comparison is so cold and damp that it literally chills my bones.

“If you suffer from Raynaud’s Phenomenon, then this sight will be something you might totally relate to…”

Meanwhile, Jenni has released a brand new podcast focused on her passion for running.

The Heart Radio star’s podcast, RunPod, sees her speak to many professional runners plus celebrities who have an interest in the sport.
