Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd offer, £750m Liverpool talks, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Celtic

08:30 UPDATE: What Liverpool deal would mean

Liverpool are in talks over a new sponsorship deal with Nike that would greatly increase their spending capacity in the transfer market.

ESPN claim the Reds could land a deal with it manufacturers Nike worth more than Manchester United’s £750m deal with Adidas.

Assuming it is a 10-year contract – like Nike’s £1bn deal with Barcelona – Liverpool could be set to land around £80m to £100m each year.

And that would greatly boost the Anfield club’s spending power.

They currently earn £45m a season from New Balance but may be able to double that income in Nike comes on board for the 2020/2021 campaign.

08:10 UPDATE: Man Utd make approach

Manchester United have approached French goalkeeper Ahmadou Dia with a four-year contract.

Dia, 20, is said to have informed his club Marseille of the approach.

L’Equipe report that Marseille’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has been warned about the offer.

However, there are concerns it may be a plot so that the Marseille chief makes rival offer to keep Dia in France.

07:46 UPDATE: Celtic snubbed

Roberto Martinez and Andre Villas-Boas have both rejected claims they could become Celtic’s next manager.

A report yesterday claimed the pair – as well as Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez – were being eyed by Celtic.

But Martinez’s agent Jesse De Preter said: “Roberto always seems to be on the shortlist as soon as there is a vacancy at a big club. But this is a false rumour about him going to Celtic.”

Villas-Boas’ agent Jean-Paul Lares said: “Andre will not be working in Scotland in the foreseeable future and will not be available for comment.”

07:22 UPDATE: Real Madrid want £112m for Bale

Real Madrid will put Gareth Bale on the transfer market this summer but want £112m for the Welshman.

And they reckon a Premier League club will take the hit and sign Bale, 29, before the start of net season.

AS claim Real want to sell Bale and reckon he is worth over £100m when matched up against some of world football’s other top stars, such as Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

But where could he end up? Manchester United seem like the clear choice but may look elsewhere for targets.

Arsenal are not expected to spend that much in the summer, nor are Tottenham.

Chelsea are under a transfer embargo, meaning the only other realistic top-six club would be Liverpool.

And they’re not exactly short of attacking talent.

06:57 UPDATE: Emery on Ramsey exit

Arsenal manager Unai Emery insists Aaron Ramsey is still committed to the club despite his impending move to Juventus.

“His performances in this moment for us show that he wants to do something important with us,” the Gunners boss said.

“Because I think he feels a lot for Arsenal as a club. When he’s here with our supporters, he gives us all he can, not individually, but in the collective.

“I want to enjoy this moment with him. I want to do something important with him. His focus is very big, he’s thinking of Arsenal only.”

06:33 UPDATE: Liverpool kit deal to beat Man Utd

Liverpool are close to a new kit deal with Nike that will see them land in excess of £750m.

Liverpool’s New Balance kit sponsorship – worth £45m a season – expires at the end of next term.

ESPN report that Nike are holding talks with the Reds over a deal that could trump Manchester United’s £750m agreement with Adidas.

Nike currently pays Barcelona £100m a season for their sponsorship deal.

06:00 UPDATE: Chelsea sale on

Chelsea are expected to sell Kurt Zouma to Everton at the end of the season, making his loan move permanent.

Zouma and Andre Gomes can both be kept on past the summer if Everton desire.

Chelsea head into the summer under a transfer embargo and that means the Blues will likely recall as many of their 35-plus loanees at the end of the season.

But Zouma could well remain on Merseyside if Toffees manager Marco Silva gets his way.

And Barcelona seem uninterested in welcoming Gomes back to the club after a miserable stint at the Nou Camp following his arrival from Valencia in 2016.
