Avengers Endgame: 'Avengers 4 is the END for SIX heroes' revealed at London fan event

A major Avengers 4 fan event in London this evening showed EIGHT minutes from the movie. Before that, directors Joe and Anthony Russo talked a little about the movie and took questions from the excited crowd. They revealed that even they cry watching the movie. They also ominously warned fans that there is a reason it is called Endgame.

Joe Russo told the audience: “This is it. The reason we called it Endgame. The story of the six original Avengers comes to a close in this movie.”

Not only does this confirm what fans have long suspected about most of the characters, it casts a whole new light of what fans can expect from one hero’s upcoming solo debut.

It is common knowledge that Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are expected to leave the MCU after Endgame. Mark Ruffalo has expressed his belief that the Avengers movies and Thor Ragnarok complete an entire story arc for Hulk and new reports suggest Hawkeye will move onto the small screen in a new Disney+ series.

Which leaves one more…

Black Widow is finally poised to make her big screen solo debut.

Could the Russos be suggesting that all six will somehow not be part of the MCU moving forward? This ties in with popular theories that all those who died will continue but in some form of alternate timeline or dimension, leaving the six originals and any surviving allies in a different one.

In which case, it would only make sense if the Black Widow standalone movie explores her past in some sort of origin story.

Anthony Russo also added: “We cry watching it. We did not think about the future, only the 21 movies on the road to this movie.”

It sounds more and more like this really is a total ending for many storylines, rather than simply a climax and then a transition into Marvel Phase 4.

Do the original six Avengers really have no future?
