Tomorrow, Friday April 5, Samsung will launch the 5G model of the Galaxy S10 that is certainly the most premium edition of the product thanks to its colossal 6.7-inch display, massive 4,500mAh battery and additional rear time-of-flight camera.
Galaxy S10 runs Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s own One UI skin running on top of it.
The South Korean tech giant’s software is extremely intuitive, chiefly because native applications position the majority of their content towards the middle and bottom of the display so larger devices such as the Galaxy S10+ are easier to use with one hand.
While the Galaxy S10 is incredibly appealing for its combination of great software and hardware, it appears the flagship is receiving a new feature to make it even better.
XDA Developers has stated Google Duplex is rolling out for the Samsung device and shared screenshots of it in action.
Google Duplex was announced by the tech giant last year and is essentially an extension of the functionality already offered by its Assistant.
When a user wants to book a restaurant table or schedule an appointment of some kind, Google Duplex is able to be harnessed.
Instead of needing to call an establishment themselves, Android fans are able to ask the Assistant to do it for them.
Duplex allows the Assistant to make a call with the booking requirements the user has laid out and will arrange it by speaking to the human being on the other end of the phone.
The feature is incredibly futuristic and demonstrates Google’s software and artificial intelligence prowess.
When the Google Pixel 3 launched, owners of the device in limited areas of the US were able to take advantage of Duplex.
Since its debut, Duplex has since been made available for all Pixel phones in 43 US states.
The introduction of the feature on the Galaxy S10 suggests it is finally making its way to other Android handsets.
Although XDA Developers has emphasised the feature arrived for their Galaxy S10+ unit, it is currently unknown how widespread the rollout is.
However, it is assumed Duplex is still only arriving for Android fans in the US, news which will surely come as a disappointment to UK enthusiasts.
