What does sleeping position reveal about YOUR relationship? Meaning behind sleep postions

How to sleep with your partner is probably dictated by bother yours tastes. Some couples love to cuddle, while others struggle to sleep while lying close together.

What does your sleeping position with your partner say about you?

According to Nectar Sleep, how your sleep with your other half can say a lot about the state of your relationship.

How so? Those couples who sleep very close together are likely to be in the throws of love, the experts claims.

Spooning, when a pair lie touching one another and facing the same direction with one’s arms around the other, indicates “you can’t get enough of that person”, the brand claims.

The mattress and bed frame manufacturer said it is natural for the way a couple sleep to evolve over time.

Spooning might evolve into “loose spoons” as the two sleep a little further from one another.

Another position that shows high levels of intimacy is when two lovers sleep facing towards one another with their arms and legs entwined.

Nectar Sleep said: “Neither of you want to leave the other’s arms, which is great, but it can also lead to a lot of arms that have fallen asleep or waking up in the middle of the night.”

However, almost a third of couples don’t touch at all when they sleep, but this is no bad thing. Not only is it better for quality sleep, but it shows “implicit trust”.

However, there is one sleeping position that might be a sign of trouble in your relationship. Described the the brand as being “chased down”, it is a version of loose spoons in which one person has moved to the edge of the bed, facing away from their partner.

The other partner may then move across the bed to be closer to their other half.

Nectar Sleep said: “Typically this could mean that the person who has pushed themselves to the side of the bed wants to be chased, and the close spooner acting as the chaser.

“This is fine but occasionally can also read as a cry for space from the person who has retreated.”

What is the best sleeping position?

According to Sleep.org the best position to sleep in is on your back.

It said “By far the healthiest option for most people, sleeping on your back allows your head, neck, and spine to rest in a neutral position.

“This means that there’s no extra pressure on those areas, so you’re less likely to experience pain. Sleeping facing the ceiling also ideal for warding off acid reflux.”

A husband or wife cheating is one of the biggest deal breakers in a relationship. But, how can you work out if your other half is seeing people behind your back?

Cheating signs can include the behaviour of your partner’s friends.

Psychologist Paul Coleman, PsyD, author of Finding Peace When Your Heart Is In Pieces told website Prevention: “There is a good chance your partner’s friends may know what’s really going on before you do.”

If your notice their friends acting strangely it might be time to confront your partner about your suspicions.

There are a number of other signs that could tip you off to a cheat.
