Stacey Dooley: Strictly star reveals she’s ‘jealous’ of former co-star

Stacey Dooley, 32, took part in the BBC series Strictly Come Dancing alongside Faye Tozer, 43, but the former lifted the Glitter ball trophy. Now the champion has taken to Twitter to respond to the Steps bandmate after she revealed she was heading to London with her “ballroom shoes packed”. In view of her 97,200 followers, Faye tweeted: “On my way to London! Ballroom shoes packed in bag! Today should be fun!!” Stacey responded: “Jel,” followed by a heart emoji and added: “Go get em sis”.

It is unclear what Faye needed ballroom dance shoes for, as one follower probed: “Is this for Jamie rehearsals? Or something else?”

To which she replied: “No – I won’t need my ballroom shoes for Jamie!”

The Steps singer was recently announced as the new Miss Hedge in the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie from next month.

Meanwhile, Stacey reunited with her Strictly partner Kevin Clifton, 36, last month.

The pair came together on the dance floor again after being crowned winners of the BBC series.

The dancing duo performed together at the Humber Royal Hotel in his hometown of Grimsby, telling Grimsby Live they were delighted to be dancing together for local fans who supported them on the show.

Speaking out on her partnership with him, she told the publication: “I have no doubt that I wouldn’t have won without Kev, I really do believe that.

“I think it was our partnership that people really got behind and I think, as long as you try your hardest, people are on your side,” she added.

The pair performed their Paso Doble routine at a Cliftons Dance Academy event at the hotel.

Elsewhere, Stacey made a surprising revelation on the Channel 4 show The Last Leg on Friday as she admitted she “doesn’t wash” when filming in remote places with no running water.

Host of the show Adam Hill, quizzed the journalist on her personal grooming habits after he shared a clip of an NBC reporter being captured on film spitting in his hands to smooth down his hair live on air while corresponding from Syria.

Adam asked: “Stacey you’ve reported from some pretty inhospitable places. Have you ever had to do something like that?”

Stacey knowingly replied: “We’ve all been there. Do you know what it is? Sometimes it’s not unusual for me to not wash for a couple of weeks.”

The studio audience were seemingly stunned by the Strictly star’s admission, before she quickly added: “But you can’t smell anything.”

Comedian Aisling Bea probed further, saying: “What… just generally or when you’re reporting?”

To which the journalist replied: “When I’m reporting. Say I’m in the Middle East somewhere or wherever, and we are somewhere quite remote and there’s no running water, it’s just baby wipes.”
