ITV Good Morning Britain: ‘Mum SHUT UP’ Katie Price SNAPS in awkward on-air blunder

Reality television star and mother-of-five Katie, 40, experienced a nightmare this morning as she was late to her live TV appearance on Good Morning Britain.

ITV presenter Piers Morgan joked the studio needed to embrace the “chaos” following the news their final and main guest was running late to the programme.

“She’s stuck on the west way, I’m stuck down here,” he chuckled, before affectionately blasting the star for wanting to get “changed” before she came into the studio.

Running through the room to take a seat at the desk, the ex-Big Brother contestant declared: “God look at me I haven’t got a bit of make-up on!”

Katie’s mum Amy was already sat in her chair at the desk and scolded her daughters for her tardiness.

“Why are you late?” she asked, and it became clear Katie thought the show was in the middle of a break.

“The traffic,” she replied simply, before snapping: “Mum shut up.”

As the realisation dawned, Katie suddenly queried: “We’re not live are we?”

“Yeah we are,” Piers replied, as his co-host Susanna Reid added: “We’re live on air.”

“You’re lying, no we’re not you’re winding me up,” the businesswoman tried again.

“Look at the screens, that’s what’s going out,” Susanna explained. “You know how television works.”

Embarrassed by her mistake, Katie suddenly addressed viewers and said: “Oh, hi!”

“So why are you late?” Amy pressed again.

“I’ve told you,” Katie answered shortly. “Mum lets talk about what we need to talk about.”

Piers attempted to get the “Price family” view on Brexit and Parliament’s current indecision, and Amy said “nothing could be as bad as this”.

“I think they’re a load of school kids,” she went on, before chastising her daughter for not voting in the referendum.

“Haven’t you got a bee in your bonnet this morning?” Katie noted, before asking her mum to use the live TV opportunity to “stick up” for her.

“What are we missing?” Piers asked, and Amy joked “not a lot”.

The 53-year-old presenter then questioned the pair which of Katie’s partners was the “worst”.

Amy refused to say but Katie was quick off the mark.

“Who was the worst one for you?” Piers asked, and the guest replied instantly: “Pete.”

“I knew you were gonna do that Piers Morgan,” Susanna declared as the show quickly came to an end.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
