The latest series from Martin Clunes, Warren, premiered on BBC One back in February, The series is due to air its final episode tonight at 9pm. Warren follows a pedantic driving instructor who thinks the world is against him… so will it get a second run?
Will there be another series of Warren?
The BBC has yet to announce whether or not they will be recommissioning Warren for a second series… but it’s not looking likely.
The comedy was panned by critics and audiences for its take on a miserly middle-aged man whose rude to everyone in his life.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the series only has a 17 percent rating and its audience score currently stands at 50 percent.
Jasper Rees from the Daily Telegraph said Warren is “at once underwritten and, worse, overwritten” and gave it one star out of five.
Chris Bennion of the Times gave two stars and said there was “too much dust” in the series.
One positive review came from the Daily Mail’s Christopher Stevens who awarded Warren four stars and said there are “plenty of straightforward laughs”.
Based on the overall reaction it doesn’t look like there is much appetite for another outing.

Clunes’ Warren Thompson is reminiscent of the likes of Victor Meldrew and Basil Fawlty… so more typical British sitcom scenarios most likely.
The synopsis for the finale, The Funeral, reads: “Warren’s family-packed car breaks down following an altercation en route to a funeral.
“Stuck on the motorway with his annoying family, Warren’s day couldn’t get any worse.”
