Jamie Redknapp: ‘Wouldn’t have swapped it for the world’ Louise Redknapp’s ex reminisces

Jamie Redknapp, 45, was signed by Liverpool in 1991 and stayed with the team until 2002.

And it seems those were some of his best days as the retired player reflected on his footballer career on Instagram.

Jamie uploaded a picture of himself wearing tiny Adidas shorts as he kicked a ball on the pitch.

The football pundit displayed his muscular legs in the snap as he got stuck into training.

He captioned the black-and-white photo: “Tbt.. just signed for Liverpool.. photos in front of the famous old kop… old tango football if you know you know!!”

Addressing his kit, he said: “When short shorts were in fashion and we used to have the same kit for the whole week without it being washed only put in the boiler room to dry it… wouldn’t have swapped it for the world.”

Mark Wright couldn’t help but comment on his noticeable legs and teased: “Great pins son.”

Sol Campbell replied to Jamie’s post: “The good old days!”

While David Walliams joked: “I had no idea you used to play football.”

Jamie decided to retire from professional football in 2005 after the end of his season at Southampton, due to constant injury problems.

Elsewhere, it seems Jamie may have a new role coming up as he’s one of the favourite to take over from James Corden and become a guest presenter on Sky’s A League Of Their Own.

The star, who has been a captain on the show since it first launched in 2010, is in the running to take the show’s hotseat.

Jamie, whose divorce from Louise Redknapp was finalised at the end of 2017, has odds of 11/4 to temporarily replace James, according to Betway.

Despite Jamie’s favourable odds, the bookmakers have put his father, Harry Redknapp, 72, ahead of him to take over.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “The British public have warmed to Harry Redknapp ever since his triumph in the jungle and it would be a massive coup if Sky were able to get him to present A League Of Their Own.

“He’s been doing his fair share of TV over the last few months and is well-fancied at just 4/1 to replace James Corden.

“Captains Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp look the obvious picks and are just 5/2 and 11/4 respectively, but it appears 72-year-old Harry Redknapp is certainly snapping at their heels for the role.”

Meanwhile, Jamie’s ex, Louise, 44, has some exciting news of her own as she released the music video to her new song, Stretch, today.

The singer set pulses racing in the seductive video as she’s seen getting up close and personal with a bare-chested man.

The new single is Louise’s first release in 16 years.
